I'm on duty...again. It's great. The last two weeks have been exciting, starting with when I climbed Fuji last weekend, one of the most terrible and most rewarding things I've ever done. Each step of the climb was a challenge, we started at 8:45 pm and got to the top for sunrise at 4:45 am, but the view of the sun rising over the surrounding mountains, lakes, and coastline below was breathtaking. I felt like I was hiking on another planet, and from the top looking down through the clouds, it really seemed as though I was seeing the Earth from above. It was amazing. The next day I recoverd by spending the entire day at a hot springs, with baths of green tea, red wine, and sake to name a few. (I think they were only colored water) But it was great for my sore legs. This past week has been spent at Baby SWOS, and in my spare time I've been moving into my first new apartment in Zushi. I'm so excited, but the idea of decorating a place on my own is daunting. Mom, can you come help me? haha
I'm going to enjoy Labor Day off! Jaime and I might weedwack her 2 feet high grass and then maybe go to the beach. I'll probably cram some more stuff into my tiny apartment. I have to start organizing everything and putting together my pink bike!
Glad you are having fun and all is well, we are all excited for you. If you need help with your Nav stuff let me know, I MAY know someone who may be able to help. He or she may or may not have had a few years of practice at it. :-) Keep in touch and enjoy. I will only offer but remember we are in similar careers and I have probably dealt with most problems you will face with dealing with shipmates both officers and crew. As the Chief Mate (or in Navy term, XO of the boat) I have been through a lot and may be offer to offer help if you have questions. Take care and love you.
